The National Educators’ Institute uses and advocates for the use of Learning Forward’s Standards for Professional Learning. As noted on their website, these standards “describe the conditions, content, and processes for professional learning that leads to high-quality leading, teaching, and learning for students and educators.” Learning Forward, 2022
Learning Forward provides a suite of tools and resources to support effective implementation of the standards. All are found on their website.
The NEI provides an Introduction to the Standards for Professional Learning course, where you interact with other Bermuda based educators to learn about the standards.
All information on this page derives from Learning Forward’s Standards for Professional Learning website. Here, we present the eleven standards as individual documents, to assist educators who would prefer the standards in a downloadable format. Changes made to the original text to reflect Bermuda’s education organisational structure and roles are displayed in brackets. Note, these documents are not copies of the Standards for Professional Learning books on sale by Learning Forward. Those are more comprehensive and can be purchased on the Learning Forward website.
