Welcome to the National Educators’ Institute where we commit to empowering educators and shaping the future of education. Our institute serves as a hub for educational innovation, professional growth, and collaborative learning.
It was a previously unconsidered idea. Dr. Duranda Greene, President of the Bermuda College (2007 – 2023), believed Bermuda’s educators deserved an organisation to network, to share professional perspectives, and to offer an industry voice on education trends, innovations, and issues.
Through collaboration, the concept expanded to include professional learning. This was the start of the National Educators’ Institute (NEI), an association to advance the professionalism of education, to build networks, engage in education research, and to provide high quality professional learning experiences to support educator growth.
A team of Bermuda’s educators and counsellors from diverse levels and types of schooling, along with community members, guide the design, governance, and implementation processes of the NEI. This team approach models the networking and collaboration the NEI advocates for within education, and establishes the NEI as a professional institute for Bermuda’s educators by Bermuda’s educators.
The NEI is an intellectually safe hub for education professionals to explore developments in education and to experience professional growth, ultimately, for student success.
